Who we are
Mony Sesvong
Cambodia Operations Manager
Mony
was born in 1984 in Takoa province Cambodia, this area is rich in
ancient Cambodian history and is thought to be the birthplace of
Cambodian civilisation.Despite the wealth of history, Takoa province is very poor. Mony's mother passed away when he was two years old; he and his older sister were raised by their grandmother who borrowed money to place both children in schools. Mony has since left the village to work and has been sending money home to pay the still outstanding debt; his grandmother is now in her late seventies.
Books With No Borders has ensured Mony is better able to care for his grandmother and clear the debt by sponsoring his advanced education in english classes in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
Previously, Mony paid for his own further education and sent money home to the family out of a very meager salary he earned working up to fifteen hours a day seven days a week in the tourism industry. Mony has also been sponsored into university by Books With No Borders and he will be an even greater asset to us when he has completed his degrees. He is studying information & technology and we wish him all the best in his endevours with that.
Mony is well known and respected by his peers in Sihanoukville, he has gained the respect of senior teachers, politicians, councilors and business people through his work ethics and dedication.
We at Books With No Borders were immensley pleased when he accepted our offer of controlling our Cambodian operations.
Mony is dedicated to ensuring the Cambodian children have a far better life than he or his sister and he knows what it's like to go to bed hungry. His grandmother did all she could but the family really needed someone like Books With No Borders to help. Mony is now well placed to assist children who desperately require the assistance he and his sister were unable to obtain.
Matt Whittaker

Matt has spent many years in business and his pastimes have been restoring old cars and fishing and hunting.
He is a mechanic in a very remote part of Australia.
Matt undertook an unexpected trip overseas as a result of an ill family member and saw first hand some of the difficulties had by
children in third world countries, he was able to see simple things like going to school are beyond the reach of these people.
When the children do go to school they do not have any books, rulers or pencils.
Without education Matt could see these kids have no hope.
Matt was so touched and affected by what he saw, he has placed two children into school and sent hundreds of books to schools overseas at his own expense.
Further Matt has set up a small printing works and he and family members spend their spare time printing and making books to send to needy schools free of charge.
Matt says it the best thing that has ever happened to him. "I am so happy to be helping these kids, it's the best feeling i've ever had in my life. It has been a life changing experience for me and it has become my passion."
Matt hopes to be able to use his business skills, too, to help those less fortunate whilst continuing his business in Australia.

been there at all times to help get the group Books With No Borders up and running, he further is in the process of sponsoring a student through school.
Thankfully Warren is on top of his personal battle and

Born in 1967 in France, Florence studied hotellerie and worked in Paris
until she met her Canadian husband. Then she moved to USA where her son
Morgan was born in 1991, and to Canada where her daughter Lily was born in
1993. In 1996, they lost their father and where left with no job, no money
and no family. Florence struggled to start a new life back in Nice, on the
French Riviera and with a little help from few friends, slowly created a
secure and warm environment for her children. She understood that it is
very easy lo lose everything and
raised her children teaching them to
respect and care for others. She now teaches english in a Merchant Marine
school in Nice. Ecologist, animal lover, she takes her children on trips
around the world showing them how lucky they are to live in France. That's
also the reason why she put all her economies in a 2 months trip in south
east asia on summer 2006, and on Morgan's 15th birthday in Sihanoukville,
they met Warren who enlightened that special day with his loving and caring
paternel smile. They had spent 3 weeks in Cambodia and definitely fell in
love with a "je ne sais quoi ?"
Now, Florence, Morgan and Lily are sponsoring a little girl Parra who also
lost her father and lives with her mother and brother, knowing that a
little help can save all the family and give hope for the new generation.
They finally found a family and hope it will become bigger and happier.
Books With No Borders welcomes Flo with a great deal of respect and
admiration. Flo has triumphed over immense personal tragedy, in so doing who better
to understand the plight of the very people we are offering assistance to. All of their stories are also extremely sad. No one can understand better than Flo just what a little assistance and
reassurance that others do care can mean. For many of our kids, it can be the difference between life and death. Flo brings a wealth of lifes experiences and compassion to Books With No Borders.
She is truly an inspirtaion to any and all who come into contact with her. We are humbled and more than glad to have her on board.
